The Lebanese cuisine is known worldwide for its richness  and goodness  and generally a high standard. Its diversity reflects the  goodness and  the hospitality of the Lebanese people. Lebanese foods are  unique and  generally Mediterranean–the average meal is full of  flavors, fresh, high  on vegetables, little meat, has a class of its own  and generally  accompanied by arak (powerful Lebanese aniseed liquor)  or wine.
Desserts  include many different variations of sweets such  as maamoul, baklava,  karabige, kenafeh and a lot of fruits.
